A delegation of the Medical Chamber of Montenegro, led by the Chamber’s President, participated in the Spring Meeting of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), held on 24 and 25 April 2026 in Tunis.

On 19 May 2026, the President of the Medical Chamber of Montenegro, Dr Žanka Cerović, and Dr Mileta Golubović, a delegate to the Chamber Assembly, also held a video meeting with Professor Vassilios Papalois, President of UEMS, and Dr Othmar Haas, the organisation’s Treasurer. The discussion covered medical education and specialist training programmes in Montenegro, as well as coordination and continuation of activities already initiated between the Chamber and UEMS.

During the discussion, the Chamber expressed interest in strengthening cooperation and implementing European training programmes, with the aim of aligning specialist training with European standards.

It was agreed that the Chamber and UEMS would work on a Memorandum of Cooperation in the coming period, to be finalised and signed at the UEMS autumn meeting in October 2026.
