PRESIDENT OF THE CHAMBER

The President directs the Chamber’s work, represents the Chamber and is responsible for the lawfulness of its work and operations. The Assembly elects and dismisses the President on the proposal of one third of Assembly delegates or at least 50 Chamber members. The President serves in an employment relationship with the Chamber. In the event of temporary incapacity, absence or other circumstances preventing the President from performing their duties, the Chair of the Executive Board acts in their place. The President is accountable to the Assembly.

The President has the following responsibilities:

1) adopts:
- decisions on issuing, extending, renewing and withdrawing licences and temporary licences;
- decisions on replacing licences and issuing duplicates;
- decisions on entry in and removal from the Register;
decisions on transactions with a net value not exceeding EUR 5,000.00 (five thousand euros);
- decisions on transactions with a net value exceeding EUR 5,000.00 (five thousand euros), up to and including EUR 15,000.00 (fifteen thousand euros), with prior approval of the Executive Board;
- decisions on transactions with a net value exceeding EUR 15,000.00 (fifteen thousand euros), with prior approval of the Assembly;
- decisions on the rights, obligations and responsibilities of Professional Service employees;
2) prepares:
- the Chamber’s work plan and programme for the following year;
- the Chamber’s activity report for the preceding calendar year;
- the Chamber’s financial plan for the following calendar year,
- the Chamber’s final accounts for the preceding calendar year,
3) implements decisions of Chamber bodies;
4) issues certificates concerning facts recorded by the Chamber;
5) represents the Chamber in all legal and financial matters;
6) ensures the collection of membership fees;
7) issues individual legal acts and public documents;
8) authorises other members to represent the Chamber domestically and abroad;
9) designates persons authorised to dispose of material resources and the limits of their authority;
10) cooperates with the health inspectorate in carrying out inspections;
11) organises meetings and takes measures to conclude protocols, agreements and other instruments that facilitate or improve physicians’ position;
12) performs other tasks entrusted to it by the Assembly.

The President may authorise another person in writing to perform particular duties within the President’s remit.
